Non surgical face lift facial aftercare: first 72 hours & week-by-week tips

Rowland Heights, CA
If you just had Face Lifting with me, your number one job for the next 72 hours is simple: keep your skin calm. Clean, hydrated, protected with SPF, and hands off. Skip heavy sweating, steam, and heat, hold off on makeup for at least 24 hours, and follow any serum timing I gave you. And if you notice prolonged redness, blistering, or severe swelling, reach out right away.
A lot of people come to me for Face Lifting because they want results without a big recovery. I also hear the same thing after their visit: they feel genuinely taken care of. One reviewer mentioned they did a full body lymphatic massage plus facial with Lyn and said she was “very good at what she does.” That’s the standard I keep across our facial work in Rowland Heights.
First 24–48 hours: the rules that protect your Face Lifting result
Right after a non surgical face lift style facial, your skin tends to do best with fewer variables. In the first two days, I generally recommend you keep everything gentle and predictable so the lifting and glow you’re seeing doesn’t get interrupted by irritation.
Quick checklist (first 48 hours): keep skin clean and hydrated, avoid sun and sweating, skip steam and hot showers, and go makeup-free for at least 24 hours (longer if you’re feeling sensitive).
Do this
- Cleanse gently with a mild, non-scrubby cleanser and lukewarm water.
- Hydrate with soothing layers. Think hyaluronic acid and a simple barrier cream.
- Wear SPF daily, even if you’re mostly in the car. Rowland Heights gets strong sun year-round.
- Sleep a little elevated if you tend to swell easily. It can help your face look calmer in the morning.
Avoid this
- Heavy workouts and sweating. Heat and salt from sweat can trigger redness and itching.
- Saunas, steam rooms, and very hot showers. Heat is the fastest way to flare sensitivity.
- Picking and scrubbing. Even “a little exfoliation” usually backfires in this window.
- New products. If you don’t know how your skin reacts, don’t test it now.
Days 3–7: keep the glow, don’t chase it with acids or extra facials
This is the week where people feel good and get tempted to “do more.” I get it. Some of our facial clients leave looking “glistening and moisturized like glass skin, ” and you want to keep that look going. The trick is protecting your barrier so your skin stays smooth and comfortable.
For most people, I recommend avoiding active ingredients for about 5–7 days. That includes retinoids, AHA/BHA exfoliants, and strong vitamin C serums. If you’re unsure about something in your routine, ask me and I’ll tell you yes, no, or “wait a few more days.”
Rowland Heights tip: Santa Ana winds can dry you out fast. If your face feels tight, that’s not a sign to exfoliate. Add hydration and a barrier cream, and keep SPF on deck.
What to pause for 1–2 weeks
Give your skin a break from extra stimulation. I suggest you hold off on:
- microdermabrasion and strong resurfacing treatments
- chemical peels
- waxing or aggressive threading on freshly treated areas
- face tools that “scrape” or pull on the skin
And if you loved the massage pressure during your visit, tell me next time what you want. One reviewer shared the massage strength was very strong at first, then felt comfortable once they asked for less force. I’m always happy to adjust.
The simple routine I like after a face lifting session (AM/PM)
You don’t need a 12-step routine after Face Lifting. You need a calm routine you’ll actually follow. Here’s the structure I usually like in the first week.
Morning (5 minutes)
- Gentle cleanse, or just a rinse if you’re dry and not oily
- Hydrating serum (hyaluronic acid is a safe bet for most people)
- Barrier moisturizer
- Mineral SPF and reapply if you’re outside
Night (keep it boring)
- Gentle cleanse (double cleanse only if you wore makeup and your skin feels fine)
- Soothing hydration layer
- Moisturizer that seals in water, not one that stings
If you booked Face Lifting as part of a longer facial day, keep the same calm approach. People love that our treatments are relaxing and step-by-step. The “lots of steps” feeling is great in the room. At home, simple wins.
What’s normal after a non surgical face lift facial, and when I want you to text me
Mild redness, a little warmth, and slight puffiness can happen, especially in the first day or two. For most people, it settles quickly. If you had extractions (like blackheads or congestion), you might see small areas that look a bit flushed or tender. That’s usually your skin calming down.
Here’s when I want you to reach out right away: prolonged pain, spreading redness, open blisters, severe swelling, or fever. If you’re in Rowland Heights near the Colima Road and Nogales Street corridor, quick check-ins are easy. If you’re coming from Hacienda Heights, La Puente, Walnut, Diamond Bar, or West Covina, I’ll still guide you on next steps and whether you should get urgent medical care.
“One of the owners has 20 years of experience in the medical spa industry, and you can really tell because she has incredible facial massage techniques.”
A reviewer
My low-downtime promise: I’ll keep your aftercare simple. If something feels off, you won’t get brushed off. You’ll get a clear answer.
If you want a bigger reset, pair your next visit with one of our other facial options. I keep a running guide to facials in Rowland Heights so you can choose based on what your skin is doing right now.
Need a quick aftercare check-in?
I’m happy to help you protect your results, especially in the first week. If you’re rebooking Face Lifting, the service is 75 minutes and designed to leave your skin looking tighter and refreshed without a big downtime routine.
